The term "Redskins" is offensive to Native Americans. To them, it's a racial slur. Should that be taken into account in the NFL?

I've been hearing about thsi story alot lately.

Let me first say that, if they feel that that term is a racial slur, I think it's the right thing to do to change it.

However, I dont feel like that word is taboo or some racial slur and i'd be hard pressed to find another person other than native americans that feel that way. I think that's why it hasnt been changed yet. Not sayin it's right, but I think the general perception of the name isnt negative by most americans. It wasnt until the native americans started speaking up about that we realized that they didnt like the term.

NFL, College, and High Schools have used that name as a mascat and anytime it's used in THAT setting. It's symbolic to the school and peoepl take pride in it. No one would take pride in being called the Carolina N*ggaz because we all know that term was NEVER a positive term. But again I think it's a perception thing and I ultimately think that if they have a problem or they are offended by it then change it and move on....
