I fell like Montana is underscored in this ranking.

They are blitzing folks, they should easily be top 5. They slammed App State opening, week and have just been impressive this year....I really feel they are #2 in the country right now.

How irrelevant is a poll with teams that have losing records?

Spiman,

It's not irrelvant at all. You've got to think about sometimes how polls work. The Sheridan HBCU Poll for instance only has HBCU school listed. It's possible that there arent enough teams to only have teams with a winning schedule included in the top 10 so it must use schools that have more losses than wins. It's not like the regualar DII poll where there's 70-80 teams to choose from. This poll has a much smaller sample thus a much great range of reccords.

It's relevant. Now if you ask me if it's accurate, then we'll a new argument...

Spiman,

Sometimes the schedule will dictate whether a school is actually listed or not. FAMU's OOC schedule turned out to be brutal, but as long as those teams did (or are doing) well, then schools will usually get a pass, as was the case with the Ohio State loss. Can't really speak on the other losses, but I wonder if they count certain losses as being "quality losses," vs those conference losses everyone is expected to win.

They probably look at the RPI ratings of the teams you lost to, as well. Losing to someone who has a lower/similar rating isn't good for rankings.
